There are a number of popular events in Seattle throughout the year, with highlights including:- The Seattle International Film Festival is held from May to June. International directors show more than 170 full-length feature films as well as about 100 short movies at this event every year.
- The Annual World Rhythm Festival takes place during May. It is the biggest festival of its type in the world, with more than 80 artists performing for the huge crowds that gather.
- Summer Nights at the Pier can be enjoyed at the picturesque waterfront area and consists of a series of concerts featuring nationally renowned performers, held over 20 nights during June and August.
- Seattle celebrates the Fourth of July with the AT&T Family Fourth at Lake Union. The impressive display of fireworks is witnessed by large crowds at the city's parks and waterfront.
- The Bumbershoot festival is held at the Seattle Center during Labor Day weekend. Many famous bands and performers make this a festival to remember.
