Information about San Diego Festivals
There are numerous significant events and festivals in San Diego, with some of the main celebrations being:- Fiesta Cinco de Mayo takes place at the beginning of May in the Old Town. The event celebrates Hispanic culture with colourful and traditional entertainment.
- At the end of October is the San Diego Oktoberfest. Essentially a beer-drinking event, plenty of live music and food are on hand to keep drinkers entertained throughout the weekend.
- Held towards the end of June is the Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cook-Off. This popular street festival features the famed chili cook-off and a variety of entertainment
- The Gaslamp Quarter is home to the San Diego Street Scene Festival during late August to early September. The attractions at this event include dancing, live music and food.
- The Buick Invitational is a popular event giving the San Diego population a chance to see the world's top golfers and celebrities in action. The event is held at the fantastic Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla during late January or February.
