The people of Salisbury know how to enjoy themselves and along with the many important national landmarks that are located in the area, visitors will no doubt be greeted by a wide variety of parties and festivals.These events run the gamut from festivals celebrating the city's historical roots to street fairs, carnivals and concerts. - The Downton Cuckoo Fair held at Downton near Salisbury is a popular event with street markets and celebrations held throughout the town.
- The Salisbury Festival from late May to early June is one of the city's most popular events with festivities taking place all around the city.
- The Redcoats in the Wardrobe festival is a display of the uniforms and style of Queen Victoria's army using volunteers. It is staged at the Wardrobe Military Museum.
- Fete Champetre in late July is held in the gardens of Stourhead and is popular for its dancing, concerts and fireworks.
- Major antique fairs are held in Salisbury at the Salisbury Leisure Centre in both September and earlier in the year in January.
