New Orleans is a culturally and ethnically diverse city that has a reputation as one of the great party capitals of the United States.It's not surprising then that the city's calendar is packed with year-round festivals and events that traditionally draw in visitors from around the world. Among the most notable are:
- Mardi Gras, held in February or March, with celebrations leading up to a day of legendary street parties, parades and costume balls.
