The cold Rocky Mountain winters mean that most of the festivals held in Colorado Springs take place in the spring or summer, with the highest concentration during July and August.Some of the more well-known Colorado Springs festivals are:
- Territory Days in late March. An event celebrating the rich Wild West history of Colorado Springs in the Old Town district.
- Mountain Arts Festival in early August is a two-day event showcasing the finest art and performance in Colorado Springs.
- Colorado Springs Balloon Classic in early September is a popular festival that draws balloon enthusiasts from all over the world as well as featuring musical performances.
- Emma Crawford Festival in late October is a quaint and slightly morbid festival held at Manitou Springs, featuring a coffin race to commemorate the death of a young girl in the early 20th century.
