Information about Brisbane Festivals
Brisbane has plentiful events and festivities throughout the year. Check out local listings in newspapers and magazines to find an event to suit you.Here are some of the year's highlights:
- The biggest event of Brisbane's calendar is the Brisbane Festival, which is held every two years. This is an outdoor event that takes place during September and lasts for two weeks. All of the arts are represented here.
- Well known throughout Australia, The River Festival is an event that includes a popular fireworks display. The festival takes place in September and is best observed from the South Bank Parklands area or from Victoria Bridge.
- In October there is a festival showcasing alternative rock music called Livid.
- The Royal National Agricultural Show is held during August.
- Other regular events that can be found in Brisbane include an international festival of comedy (April), an international film festival (August) and the Mustang Car Show (October).
