Belfast is loaded with events and festivals that take place throughout the year.Here are some of the calendar highlights:
- Festival at Queen's is a long standing event that draws in more than 50,000 visitors a year. Many different performance and visual arts are represented at the festival. Music styles such as pop, jazz, folk and classical are joined by comedy acts, dance, theatre and literature.
- The Belfast Pride Festival is a week-long celebration of gay and lesbian lives that takes place in late July and early August.
- The place to be on October 31st is the Odyssey car park for the free Halloween Metro Monster Mash. Celebrations include light, laser and firework shows, with music and street entertainers keeping your attention in between.
- Cinemagic - World Screen Festival for Young People is an event that showcases international films with local productions. Apart from movie screenings, there are workshops and educational activities.
