The majority of festivals in Avila are religious in nature, celebrating the lives of the many saints and martyrs of the region.The most well-known of Avila's festivals are:
- Santa Teresa Week, held on the 15th October every year. This is the primary festival in Avila.
- The Outdoor Festival in July features sporting events, art displays and theatrical performances.
- Holy Week (La Semana Santa) is an Easter festival marked by parades and processions.
- The Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Chilla in mid-September is held in the nearby town of Candeleda.
