Information about Austin Festivals
Austin has a number of celebrations unique to the city. Referred to as 'The Live Music Capital of the World', there are plenty of opportunities throughout the year to witness many different live performances.Some of the city's highlights include:
- Carnival Brasileiro in early February is an assortment of all things Brazilian.
- The South by Southwest music festival in March is the largest music event of the year.
- If you like Mexican food, head for the Mexic-Arte Museum in May. Represented are a number of top Mexican restaurants offering up their brand of cuisine.
- June sees the Republic of Texas Biker Rally. A great chance to see real bikers and their Harley Davidson rides. The rally also includes bike stunts and concerts.
- The Austin City Limits Music Festival in September is a 30-hour live concert with an audience from all over the world.
- Head for the Paramount Theater for the October film festival. Screenings are also held at other selected venues throughout the city.
